Construction Completed of model bridge in Muglin (Muglin Arch Bridge)

Construction of Nepal’s unique and model bridge over Trishuli river in Muglin has been completed.

According to the Bridge Project Sector Number 2 Madya-area Patandhoka Lalitpur, the new bridge will connect Muglin of Chitwan district with Abukhairani of Tanahun district.


Ramesh Subedi, project engineer, claimed that 160-metres arch-bridge is a unique and modern architecture in Nepal. He further said within a month, vehicles will be allowed to ply on the bridge.

Round arch bridges are more suited to Himalayan national like Nepal, Subedi claimed.

The new bridge was constructed after road accidents rose unexpectedly at the existing old-dilapidated bridge which was constructed in 1975.

After the construction of the bridge, Pokhara, Lamjung, Gorkha, Tanahun, Baglung, Parbat, Syanjha, Mustang, Manang will be connected with other districts in Nepal.

The bridge was constructed with an estimated budget of Rs 120 million, Subedi shared.
