Private schools’ fee structure revised

Itahari sub-metropolis has revised the fee structure of private schools operated in the municipal areas of Sunsari district.

The sub-metropolis revised the fee structure after private schools were categorised into Ka, Kha and Ga groups. According to the sub-metropolis, schools under the Ka category can charge maximum monthly fee of Rs 1,800 for Nursery class while schools of the same category can charge Rs 3,350 for grade X on a monthly basis.


Similarly, schools under Kha category can charge maximum fee of Rs 1,550 for Nursery class and Rs 2, 850 for grade X on a monthly basis. Likewise, schools under Ga category can charge maximum fee of Rs 1,200 for Nursery class and Rs 2,250 for grade X on a monthly basis.

The sub-metropolis has also decided to charge eight per cent more fee for every class above Nursery. There are as many as 12 schools in category Ka, 50 in category Kha and 24 in category Ga.

Deputy Mayor of the sub-metropolis Laxmi Gautam said the fee structure was declared as per suggestions from the local levels.

She said action would be taken if exorbitant fee was charged defying the rate fixed by the sub-metropolis.

She said a circular had been issued to keep a digital board to maintain transparency of the fee structure in schools.
