Teenage boy commits suicide

Kathmandu , June 13th 2019

A 13-year-old boy committed suicide saying he was not loved and nurtured by his parents, in Jwalamukhi Rural Municipality, Dhading.

The body of Sunil Pariyar was found hanging from a tree in the forest near his home yesterday. A letter addressed to his younger brother recovered from the incident site shows that Sunil killed self.

Sunil had gone missing while on the way back home from school last Sunday. While returning home from school, Sunil had sent his brother home and stayed back at a local chautara.

DSP Raj Kumar Baidawar of the District Police Office said Sunil’s body was found hanging from a tree in the forest.

Sunil was a seventh grader at the local Kalika Secondary School.

The letter recovered from the incident site states, “Brother, parents love you. But, they do not love me and they beat me. Thus, you stay with mom and dad while I will die.” DSP Baidawar said Sunil might have killed himself because he did not receive love from his parents.

Locals and neighbours said the incident might have taken place as Sunil’s parents had failed to
fulfil his demands due to poverty. Sunil’s parents have lost consciousness when his body was found. They are receiving treatment at Dhading District Hospital.
