30 People arrested violating Lockdown

According to SP Om Adhikari, Chief of the District Police Office, Gorkha, 30 youths have been taken into custody.



A team from the Area Police Office, Harmi, took them under control on the basis of information that a large number of people had gone to the forest to eat Kafal by bus. Among them, 29 are locals of Ward No. 4 Chhoprak and one is a local of Ward No. 5 Chhoprak, said Indra Thapa, Deputy Inspector at Area Police Office, Harmi. He said that most of the arrested were laborers working in the transport sector. The youths had used a bus (Na 5 Kha 476) parked at Chhoprak of Siranchowk Gaonpalika-4 during the lockdown.

The Chief Police Officer of Gorkha has informed that they will be punished according to the law as they went to the forest to eat Kafal by violating the rules of Lockdown. Locals have complained that inspite of nationwide Lockdown in urban headquarters and urban areas, the youths of the villages are working in groups to go forest for eating Kafal , swim and have picnics.
